Ulcerative colitis - My Experience with an Alternative Method of Treatment.

In 1991 I was diagnosed as suffering from an acute ulcerative colitis, I am female and 32 years old.

Since January 1994, I receive a pension because I am unable to work.

As the constant diarrhoea (total colitis) has extremely restricted my action radius, and as I am also suffering from osteoporosis, I have tried to minimise the intake of cortisone. For this reason I have continuously tried new ways and means to achieve an improvement of my situation. Along this road I have tried a multitude of medications which I have heard or read of on my search, however, without much success.

I started to recover some hope after reading an article in an American Naturopathic journal on the subject of diet related causes of Morbus Crohn and Ulcerative colitis. The subject was about, the influence of essential fatty acids and the importance of the correct ratio of Omega 3 and Omega 6 essential fatty acids taken with our food on a daily basis. I also read an article on the subject in this magazine.

Independently from all this our friend who has an Emu farm in Australia told me about the result of Emu oil analysis he had conducted. They showed the presence of both Omega 3 and Omega 6 in the Emu oil, together with an anti-inflammatory component, vitamins and minerals. Emu oil is used as a natural medication by the Australian aborigines for over 40 000 years.

The first oil brought over had normal levels of omega 3 and omega 6 together with an anti-inflammatory component of 35% tested with rats in a laboratory. After taking the oil for three months at three desert spoons a day a certain stability could be achieved which resulted in a lower frequency of daily bowel movements and improved blood values, the iron level became normal after years of anaemia. The oil is tasteless and odourless, there was no problem of taking it orally.

The first result in principle was positive, however not spectacular.

After significant further testing was carried out I was given new oil which had good levels of omega 3 and 6 and importantly a tested anti-inflammatory component of 85%.

This is the oil which will be available shortly in Germany under the name of Inner Relief. After four weeks of taking the Emu oil, the frequency of daily bowel movement was reduced to 2 and I have gained 2kg of weight. My general condition has improved significantly and my action radius increased accordingly. I will continue to take the oil and I do hope that there will be no deterioration.

I have continued to take a daily intake of Inner Relief. Now 6 months later there has been no deterioration in my condition and as you can imagine it is great to be able to lead a normal life again.

My condition started getting worse from firstly generally feeling unwell, I had to watch what I ate, and for two years I had trouble with my bowels also I wasn't able to drink beer, which I always enjoyed.

When I had a check up the doctor told me I had Hiatus, a duodenal Ulcer and 3cm of my oesophagus was ulcerated. It didn't make me feel very good.

The doctor put me on medication and I had to watch my diet. But this cause of action did not work.
